Examining the Role of Educational Technology in Remote Learning

Abstract

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the rapid adoption of remote learning platforms, leading to a significant increase in the utilization of educational technology (EdTech). This paper examines the role of EdTech in facilitating remote learning environments, exploring its impact on student engagement, learning outcomes, and the overall educational experience. The analysis draws on a review of existing literature, which highlights the diverse range of EdTech tools and platforms available. These include virtual classrooms, interactive learning platforms, and personalized learning applications. The paper discusses the benefits of using EdTech for remote learning, such as enhanced flexibility, increased access to educational resources, and improved student-teacher interaction. However, it also acknowledges the challenges associated with this shift, including technical issues, potential inequalities in access, and the need for continuous professional development for educators. The findings suggest that, while EdTech has the potential to revolutionize remote learning, it is essential to address these challenges and ensure equitable access for all students.
