Abstract

The paper delves into the critical ethical considerations that are imperative in educational research. As educational research is conducted with the aim of improving learning outcomes and practices, the ethical dimensions cannot be overlooked. This study examines the various ethical challenges faced by researchers, including informed consent, confidentiality, and the potential impact on participants. It explores the importance of adhering to ethical guidelines set forth by professional bodies and the implications of failing to do so for both the research process and the credibility of the findings. The paper also discusses strategies for mitigating ethical risks and the role of institutional review boards in ensuring ethical compliance. Furthermore, it examines the ethical considerations specific to qualitative and quantitative research methods, highlighting the unique complexities involved in each. The overall objective of this paper is to underscore the significance of ethical integrity in educational research and to provide researchers with a framework for navigating these challenging issues.
