Abstract

The paper explores the critical role of integrating 21st century skills into curriculum design to enhance student preparedness for the globalized digital era. It argues that the traditional educational framework, heavily reliant on rote learning and subject-specific knowledge, is inadequate to meet the dynamic demands of the modern workforce. The 21st century skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy, are identified as essential competencies for success in diverse career paths. This abstract examines the challenges educators face in incorporating these skills into existing curricula and discusses innovative strategies and practices that have been implemented in various educational settings. The paper further highlights the importance of technology integration and interdisciplinary approaches in fostering a skill-set that is adaptable and versatile. Through a comprehensive review of literature, case studies, and theoretical frameworks, the abstract concludes that a transformative approach to curriculum design is necessary to empower students with the tools and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
